²⁷ “The tenth day of the seventh month shall be a Day of Atonement. You shall have a holy assembly and you shall humble yourselves. You shall make an offering by fire to the Lord. ²⁸ You shall not work on this day, for it is a Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the Lord, your God. ²⁹ Whoever does not humble himself that day shall be cut off from among his people.
